Calypso Mineral Beauty Eye Shadows Swatches and Review
I purchased a few of the Calypso Mineral colors to try during the sites sale a few weeks back. I ordered 3 colors and got 3 additional samples. The colors I got were Velvet, Bandana, and Aquadellic.
Velvet- A true red color. This color is matte in texture. To get a bright pop of color you have to apply, apply and apply. It really takes alot of work to get this to show up! I dont just mean in the swatch either. I wore this today on top of mac painterly paint pot and I had to pack it on to get the true red to show up. Once I started blending. It looked more like pink on my eye. The red from Mac’s mineral eyeshadow Danger Zone has better payoff in my opinion. See swatch above.
Bandana- Gorgeous! Smooth and creamy, very pigmented a little shimmery. Looks like how you would imagine the sun shinning on a picture. I trully love this one.
Aquadellic- The texture of this is similer to bandana. Both are bright and vibrant in color and I love them! A little goes a long way with these two.
The samples I got were Mermaid, Platnimum and Kryptonite.
Mermaid- Similer to aquadellic, but not as pretty. Its more of a muted version of its sister above.
Platnimum- By the name I expected something completly diffrent. This is a off white- soft grey with tiny pink and blue reflections. I really like this alot. Its much prettier in person than the picture. It kinda reminds me of Pincurl from MAC Blonde Brunette Redhead collection.
Kryptonite-This is pretty. Not real glittery, Mostly small reflections. Not sure how I will use it really yet though…

@Rai- I haven't tried wet or with mixing medium yet. but that will be next. Hopefully the velvet looks better that way!
@Mama Jen- I was most excited for velvet too! Did you get some? Which colors did you pick up?

I've never heard of this site, but I just ordered 2 eye shadows and a lip balm; I'm quite excited! Vegan make up… gotta try everything at least once, right?

These colors are beautiful!! I especially love the Bandana.
I know what you mean about red eye shadows; they seem to work better with a really great color base. I have yet to try a true red eyeshadow..

I ordered eyeshadow 6weeks ago.Jen was available until I placed the order now she doesn't answer the phone or emails. Does she really have makeup for sale or is this just a scam? Will I ever get my order?

@Anonymous- I understand what you are saying. I felt like there was much communication during the purchase and then it took forever to receive my items. When I finally got in contact her, She stated she would send a replacement package (though I never received DC for the first and received DC immediatly for the second shipment). I feel she forgot. Though I dont have a way of knowing for sure. This was the first and only order I placed. However I hope you get your order soon!

I first ordered in June and got part of my order In August. I’ve been trying to get the rest of my order since then with no luck. She kept saying she’d send them but in November she stopped replying. DO NOT PURCHASE CALYPSO MINERALS! Although they have beautiful pigments, its not worth it.

Girl I am so sorry. I am no clue what her situation is, but you can see by the above comments that you are not the first to have problems with her. I guess I should consider myself lucky I received anything. Its really sad this is how she chose to handle things!
