Stila my Heart… <3! My Mother My Hero… New Stila Cosmetics Haul
I hear about “Stila” here and there or I read about items on message boards and blogs. I see products as I walk though Sephora… But I have never tried anything from them. Until now… I recently was chatting with a friend who was ecstatic about the Stila Sale (stilapro discount on the stila website) she ranted about how fantastic Stila was and how she loved their items. I gasped! If this friend who feels the same way I do on most makeup brands and topics feels this way I have no choice but to try it!
I scoured the Stila website looking for items to purchase during the sale but did’nt know where exactly where to start, or what to try… then I read a blog posted by thebeautychick on this kit, My Mother My Hero Collection and knew this would be how I would “try” the brand for the first time. I am a mother after all! This kit was meant for me! As soon as I read Amy’s post I ran down to Sephora to grab it! Unfortunately the store was sold out! I did thankfully get to play with the tester and further convinced myself I needed it! I went back home and ordered it immediately from the Sephora Website. I also ordered a small Stila 3 piece lipglaze kit that came with Brown Sugar, Apricot and Starfruit. I immediately put Brown Sugar on top of the Too Faced “Totally Nude” Lipstick I was already wearing and it was beautiful! My lips feel and look fantastic!
For the past couple years I have been in search of a TRUE GOLD eye shadow. I had Hopes for Henna (MAC) when that shadow came out with Blonde Brunette Redhead But that was more green. I got excited again when I got the Too faced So Smurfy Palette but again disappointment with all the glitter. The Mother My Hero kit I spoke above of contains a fantastic eye shadow duo (Gold Glow) that just may be what I have been searching for!
The Stila My Mother my Hero contains:
Bronze Illuminating Finishing Powder- This is absolutely beautiful. I wasnt quite sure if I would be able to use pull this product off with my NW15/Ivory skin tone… But let me tell you. I did and I love it! It trully is buildable… I applied 2 or 3 layers on my cheeks and got an amazing bronzy rose color. Lighter skin tones! Do not be afraid!
Gold Glow Eyeshadow Trio – This comes in a super cool aluminum case and is three gorgeous colors than can be used wet or dry. One of which is a beautiful True Gold! I am most excited about this! The colors are gorgeous and work really well together. The lightest shade is almost perfect dupe for MAC shroom.
Natalie Lip Color - This is a really pretty color. The Website describes as “sheer plum” In the tube it looks like its really dark but its actually light and pretty sheer. The color is very pretty. Its a light berry color and almost feels like chap stick on, but thinner in texture if that makes sense. I like it. But I tend to prefer more full color lipsticks. But this is very pretty!
Black Lash Visor Waterproof Mascara- I’m not really a fan of waterproof mascara. Every time I use it I feel like my lashes are weighed down and kinda irritated but after reading the website description I decided I better give it a try…My lashes look dark and long and I dont even feel like I am wearing anything on my lashes. I really like this!
Clutch - I never seem to like any of the makeup bags that usually come with most kits, I get rid of em’ But let me tell you. This clutch is so cute and well made, I am keeping it..

I have bought some Stila products here and there and just recently ordered one of their “Earth Day” palettes (because I love the eyeshadows). I also love, love, love the Lip glazes. Well, just before reading this I got a coupon code from Stila for being a valued customer…20% off and free shipping on my next order. Now, the question is what I’ll be ordering next? Anybody have recommendations?

Hi Lisa! There are alot of great Stila products. I love the shadows and the smudgepots especially! Check out Beautyticket.com and beautycrunch.com they have super sales on stila all the time and you can try out more items for dirt cheap!!! Thanks for your comment!!
