Garbage! Yay! Not just because I can back 2 mac most of the items, but because I love running out of stuff. It makes me feel as if I didnt waste my money because I got complete usage out of the item unlike most of which sit more than halfway full on the shelf and their primary purpose is to take up space in the bathroom.
The items shown in picture #1 are pretty much staples. I always repurchase every time I run out.Below are my feelings on some items I have recently finished. These are just my opinions only on how these items worked for me:)
Mac Brush Cleaner- I dont think this product is amazing. There probably is a product that works much better but because I am in MAC so often, grabbing this is the most convenient option.
MAC Charged Water- A friend to MAC fix plus. In my opinion they are pretty much the same. I dont know if this product is spectacular because I have always used it and haven’t tried anything similar to it. I continue to repurchase to use to spray on my brushes before foundation application.
MAC Pro Lip and Eye Remover- ok now this stuff I love! I have tried many eye makeup removers, but with as much eye makeup as I wear not all of them can rise to the occasion and get it all off without little effort. I wear contacts and this stuff doesnt irratate my eyes in the least. There is one remover I can say I like more, that would be
Lancome Bi-facial. But to save a few bucks and because its convienent I continue with MAC’s version.
MAC Wipes- I love these too. They work effortlessly to remove all makeup on my face. I do wish they would get the makeup off my eyes as well and save me the step above. But otherwise no complaints.
MAC Lightful Moisturizer- I really like this stuff. I use to use moisture lush religiously but this is so much more “light” on the skin. But I am not in love. I really dont have a moisturizer that I am in love with so in till I find the perfect product I will continue the rotation. I actually have already replaced this product with Origins Balanced Diet. I will update you later with my thoughts of this product.
MAC Blacktrack fluidline- Love Love Love. This stuff is amazing. Its funny when I bought it, I couldn’t imagine ever running out. But here I am. I will definitely repurchase this again. However I am trying to par down the stash of dupes so I need to use the
New Urban Decay Ink for Eyes in Zero and my
Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner before I buy more of this. Otherwise the other two will never get used up!
MAC Painterly Paint Pot- Absolutely love this. Perfect color for me with no sheen or sparkle. I continue to use this and replace it over and over again. However I bought MAC Bare Study Paint a while back to try out so I plan to use that up before replacing this.
MAC Tendertone- I like this. But it doesnt need replaced in my mind. Plenty of other items similar that I like just as much. I only used this before bed and not out and about, so for me it wasnt that special.
MAC Pro Longwear- I honestly love these. Stains are one of my favorite makeup items! Upon first application the pro longwears look amazing. The color locks in and you are good to go…. well in till about lunch time. Re Applying this after lunch is the worst for me. I have to completely remove it from my lips and start over. Which removing it can only be done with makeup remover. So on the days I wear these beauties since I dont carry makeup remover with me, I dont reapply. I just grab a similar gloss to put on top after lunch. But even with this said. I will probably still buy future colors.
Mark Matte Chance Moisturizer- At my age I think its kinda hard to determine weather a moisturizer works. At least for me this is true. I have used brand after brand. High end low end and my skin doesn’t look any different. My skin does feel somewhat different however with use throughout the day. Matte Chance is light on the skin and not oily at all. But check out the container! 1st of all the pump top stops working before you are even halfway finished, and speaking of halfway finished. The jar is only halfway full! ( please click for larger image so you can see what I mean!) Yes I know my job as a consumer… Compare price per ounce, etc. But I never think to do that. I expect when you make a jar a certain size it is too accommodate the product thats going in it!! I feel sorta ripped off in a small way…
Any thoughts on the items above? Any suggestions on some items you love that I might be able to try out in replacement of the above staples ?

I didnt care for studio sculpt either, I was told it was so fab but its formula was horrible!! You had to work quickly to blend it.

I agree about the MAC foundation. I have it and you do have to work fast, what I do like about it is that I need a more full coverage foundation, and this seems to do the trick. But yes, a lot of extra work involved! I'll have to try that Philosophy stuff, I haven't seeen any reviews on that before.

I feel the same way about sculpt and find it's not as easy to use as other foundations. I really have to work it in quickly and if I can't find my foundation brush (!) then there's no point in my applying it as the finish looks awful on me if I use a sponge or my fingers. And yet when it works the coverage is lovely! x

I had gotten a studio sculpt a few months back but I got a tan so the shade was off. I didnt really like the range of the colors, it was hard to get a match. The formula brok me out too. But got it to work nicely on me however, I found that I could replicate the same effect without much trouble with rcma – studio sculpt broke me out too
