The Language of Beauty… Across the Oceans!

While in school I could care less about geography. What need did I have to know where Germany was or the population of the United Kingdom.  “Unless you are planning a trip for me to this country, don’t ask me to retain any information about this foreign place. “

Looking back I laugh. How naïve was I to not want to know how about this amazing world God created!

The past few years my curiosity has been sparked by the love of Makeup and Beauty in general! I have made some amazing friends through the beauty boards as well as through reading blogs. Its really great to gain the international writers perspective and to see how the makeup/beauty items differ from country to country. I love reading not only about makeup but activities the writer may be a part of where they live. It makes me curious to know so much more about these other countries!

How amazing is it, that something as simple as makeup can bring the whole world together… What do you think? Can you relate?

Such a great post. Through make up I chat to people in Norway, the Uk, America all from my tiny town here in IReland!

I love the internet for the ability to bring me closer to people all over the world. Because of the internet I have a best friend in LA and get to "meet" new and interesting people every time I log on. It rocks.

    touche! i totally agree.

I have a proposal for you – actually it's more of a yelp for help. Two things: 1) How the *beep* do I keep my inky-bloody lipstick off my teeth and gums.. and of course bleeding? You always wear bright colors and I never hear you say anything about this, please please tell me your secret!!! 2) Can you please recomend a powder (that won't break the bank) that provides moderate-full coverage, won't break me out, and doesn't sit on the skin (you know those little hairs, I hate being able to see them after powder application)? Your skin looks so flawless in pictures, I want that same effect.. only without the foundation (it's really starting to clog my pores (ewwww))

Thank you thank you thank youuuu!!!!

@Scarie- Thank you! Exactly what I mean! Its so much fun to be able to connect to so many different kinds of people!

@Eliza- That’s soo cool! Exactly what I mean! Your so close to someone you never would have met otherwise! I love it!

@Lizzard- LIPS: do you use liner? I always line my lips. Its not just for creating shape. Liners are waxier and keep the lipstick from passing over it. If you don’t like the look of lined lips. You can use like a clear wax eye brow pencil to line your lips before using it… MAC has one I know of. But I am sure other brands do too…

FACE: Apply powder directly after moisturizer or a face primer so it has something to stick too. I really like Revlon Color Stay Mineral Powder.

HOWEVER. Never re apply your powder during the day. (especially a heavy coverage powder) Use a blotting powder instead. I use Mac’s blotting powder throughout the day if I have an oily spot. The compact lasts forever cause you don’t use that much. Its super skin and really light in color. It doesn’t add more powder to your skin so you don’t get that chalky cakey look! They have blot sheets, but I like the powder better. I have never tried blot powder from other brands. But Im sure they are all pretty similar. Hope I helped! Let me know how it works!

well for this particular look i use my black eyeliner, should i use a regular lip liner first all over the entire lip then do the black liner then fill with red lipstick? but it gets all over my teeth! how do i prevent THAT? these dark colors are too much work lol

face – thank you dear, i'll check out the revlon. ew ew i never reapply, i do my makeup once a day – in the morning. unless i'm going out that night, then i recoat my lashes with mascara.

    thank youuuuuu!!!!!!

so true!! i am so upset i do not travel as much as i used to. my family and i would go all around the world when i was younger but i was never really into makeup and beauty products then. i could only imagine the damage i would do in a foreign country now with all this knowledge about other brands of makeup

@ Lizzard- lipliner and eyeliner are made with different stuff. I would still do the wax thing underneath before you apply anything. Dark colors are alot of work! Its hard to cover your whole lip! Hate that!

@Fifi- Exactly! so much fun. Makes the world seem less big, haha!

    @Nell- xoxoxo!

@Chrissy- Greetings!! lol. Im glad to know where you are from! Thank you for the hello!

@Rai- What goodies are in germany Rai… what am i missing out on???

I love this! I feel like I have close friends in places I would never have met anyone…like Finland, Glasgow, California! It's so cool for someone like me in Ohio (where makeup is definately not a popular subject) to be able to meet people from all over the world! Lyndsey from Robert Smith's Mistress and I just did a swap…I got SO many UK goodies that are absolutely amazing!!
