TKB Trading Pigments.. Lots of Colors and Pictures.
A couple weeks ago I was reading on Lisa Kate’s blog where she mentioned TKB Trading as a source for inexpensive bright pigments. It seems that some pigment companies purchase from this company wholesale- mix and redistribute. So I looked at the site and couldn’t believe how cheap they were. So I picked out some colors and added them to my cart. I wanted to mix and play too!
I purchased the sample size bag which contained 1 tablespoon of shadow. A few of the colors are 1 teaspoon but the site specifies which colors and how much powder they contain. When I got got these in the mail today. I automatically dumped the contents of the baggie into .10mm sample jars. This size jar is double what a normal sample jar size is. These jars were almost completely full of product and yet the small baggies were still about half full. There is so much product! I cant imagine ever using all of the color in the sample bag, let alone a full jar!
With all of my pigments I store them in the same size set of sample jars which I get from Jo-anns Fabric. There are 24 jars which come in a clear case. Perfect for stacking and storage!
I didnt swatch all of the colors because the powders are very true to color. What you see is what you get.. I did swatch three below just to give you an idea of what they look like. The powders are really fine and smooth. A little goes a long way!
Top Row, no base and bottom row with base. Colors swatched are Midnight Train, Totally Teal and Lemon Drop Pop. The colors on top with out a base wiped away with a simple rub over them. But the swatches with the base stayed in place.
Click on the above picture for color names and better view of the colors.
The above colors are – Row 1- are Grape Pop, Love Song, Pure Purple, Midnight Train, Totally Teal, Blueberry Pop. Row 2- All Love Green, Cypress Green, Apple Green Pop, Lotsa Lime, Lemon Pop Drop. Row 3- Crucible Red, Pinky Pink, Raspberry Pop, Strawberry Pop, Tangerine Pop. Row 4- Crucible Khaki, Forged Gold, Crucible Gold.
Have you tried anything from this brand? What are your thoughts? Check out my review here.

I have tried their pigments and I highly recommend them, so inexpensive! No need to buy full size, samples are enough. It's great to mix and create your own shadows!

Sara, how much were the samples?
[Reply]
@Katie- Ohh good idea on the lip palette! The colors are great. used them today and you definitly need mixing medium or something with them though for strong color I have come to find out…
@Tia- The samples for most 1tbsp colors were 1.50! Crazy Cheap!

I've been eyeing them since forever. These are pure pigments, which are not diluted with any other fillers. I remember they used to be $1.50 per sample but don't know if the price is still the same.

TKB is my fave, have about 80 of them. My biggest favorites so far seem to be greens, browns and golds (my eyes are blue). These are not finished eye shadows and some of them are therefore quite sheer – applies to the lighter tones (I suggest to avoid glittery stuff like 24K Gold or Pisces Blue if one does not use a sticky makeup base). Must-haves are Moonstone, Athena, Swiss Chocolate, Ivory Lace, Ocean Green, Shamrock and Cyprus Green, Smokey xxx, Aster Hue, Deep Russet, Apple Blossom and Blackstar Red. But I want them all….
Oh – and get the Crucibles Collection – it’s so worth it.
