FOTD and a Fake MAC Cosmetics Party

Ok so you have all heard of Candle Party’s, Tupperware Party’s, Pampered Chef Party’s… Oh last Month I went to a purse party! But the newest party you may have not heard of is a MAC Makeup Party.
A girl who works in my office building invited me to a “MAC Makeup Party” at her house this weekend. I told her when she gave me the invite that MAC Cosmetics was not sold this way. But the more she talked about it, The more I knew I HAD to stop by and scope out the scene.
I get to her house around noon today, walk in the door and I was blown away. There was a table covered in Fake MAC cosmetics! I saw Hello Kitty palettes, Cult of Cherry Items, Some Blonde Brunette Redhead, Pigments, Eyeshadows, Lipgelees and more. (I posted more items and packaging details here) I was in shock. I never understood how people could sell these products online and now I wonder, How do you sell counterfeit cosmetic items to someone face to face.
I told the girl who was hosting the party that the items were fake and explained to her the details of how I knew. I left directly after, I just didn’t feel comfortable being there.
It was amazing to me how much stuff she had and how good some of the items looked. Most items were of course obvious. But some just weren’t. It definitely made me more skeptical of buying online.
So anyway, here was my look that I prepared for the party. See me above covered in Authentic MAC Cosmetics
MAC Vibrant Grape Eyeshadow, Royal Hue Shadestick, MAC Solar White Eyeshadow and Mineral Eyeshadow (MES) in Earthly Riches.
Ok so the moral of the story is… Be careful! These “sellers” are getting much to comfortable selling their products and this kind of distribution is becoming more of a common practice. I realize that so much more seeing the items today. Any questions, let me know!

Wow! face to face! that's crzy. I approaached some sellers online in myspace, and they got mad at me! They were saying that everyone sells fake mac on myspace and they like it! wow, I was soo taken away!

That's crazy. And the thing is, you don't know the ingredients that go into these products, so God knows what you're putting on your face.
Did the lady in charge say anything to you regarding the items being fake?
[Reply]
@Vanilla- Well the girl I told she was like, there was no way I would have known that. I think all the people were oblivious to real or fake. They didnt know enough about makeup to even think twice about it…
@Mary- thats crazy! To imagine they knew! I cant decide if thats better or worse! At least you said something. You can feel good in your mind that you made sure they at least knew!
@Arezu- Exactly! Putting on your face or breathing in… No she said nothing. It was a large group of friends with each other. I didnt know anyone but the one girl.. so I didnt say anything to anyone but her and then left… SO crazy.. the whole Idea of it!

Oh my, this is crazy! Would you mind if I blog about this tomorrow? I feel the need to alert people about this, as it may become a trend.

I just cannot believe the nerve of some people!!
My mum requally visits the flea markets and I wish I had of went with her last weekened as there was a lady selling fake mac. From hearing me talk about it (a lot, lol) mum was instantly skeptical of it and didnt buy any, (thank god). But as she was describing the item to me I knew without even seeing them. An example would be a limeted edition Hello Kitty Mascara set…..

wow thats pretty weird!! I wonder how someone could do that… I would feel wrong knowing that… even if it was something I didnt care for.

That's so weird Fake MAC items are becoming another brand itself, there is so much of it.
Anyway I love your FOTD, the lips just complement the eyeshadow so much..pretty! x

omg that's so rediculous! what was the girl's reaction when you told her they are fake? ugh the nerve of some people, seriouslyy
btw, you look AH-MA-ZING!

You look fantastic! Way to go, I don't tolerate dishonesty.
In fact, just recently a women was going around store to store selling 'MAC', my mother-in-law called me and asked me if there was anything I wanted..I told her no thank you, as it may be fake. My sister-in-law bought two pigments from her and they are COMPLETELY fake. They are names I've never even heard of and the color payoff is horrible. My sister-in-law likes them, so I guess some people don't mind.

shocking! you really do have to be careful these days.. its such a shame=__= i bought a fake mac brush online once and now i never buy any kind of cosmetics or skincare products online.. only official websites or from the actual store. xx

Well alot of people know is fake but i personally buy authenyic and if i go to the flemarket and see something i like i also get wich i know is fake but some stuff is axtually really good quality and works the same. And if you can afford a 35 dollar brush go for it but the one that i bought for 7 dollars works the same lol
