Nyx Lucious Lip Palette and Smokey Eye Look Kit Swatches and Review

Submitted by Sara on January 12, 2010 – 11:09 am13 Comments
I am definitely a fan of NYX Cosmetics. I think the range of products they offer and the low cost is fabulous! I first was able to try out out NYX during a Cherry Culture sale and haven’t looked back since. One of my favorite products from the brand are their palettes! When these palettes first launched you can guess I had all of them in my cart. So when I got the opportunity to try out another new product from NYX I couldn’t be happier.

I was sent NYX Luscious Lip palette in The Naturals as well as an Smokey look kit. When I received the lip palette my first reaction was eh… Which is normal for me because typically I am not a fan of lip palettes. Once you use them once they start looking a mess, etc. But let me tell you that wasn’t the case with the Luscious lip palette.

The lipsticks in the palette are a hard consistency. When I dipped in to swatch the palette color came off easily and the palette looked just like new when I finished.

The colors in this palette are all very pretty. They are light on the lips and the payoff is more like a gloss in my opinion. On my lips the colors are not super pigmented but they feel great and have a nice payoff! If you were on the fence on these definitely check them out. Compared to other lip palettes I have tried these are at the top of my list!

The Smokey Eye Kit is a small cube shaped compact that contains 9 small eye shadows and 2 lipsticks in a small slide out tray. The colors in the Smokey kit are beautiful, There isn’t a lot of range in colors but you will still be able to create multiple looks all the same.

I love how compact this is, but it does make it a bit tricky to use with certain brushes. The size of the shadows compare to those that are in the famous 88 color palette but in square form. In the picture below mac shadows are to the left and the NYX Runway shadow palette is on the right to help compare.

I used this today in my look and found the shadows the same as other NYX shadows but because of size I did have to work a bit harder to pick up the color. But for the price of $7.99 that’s definitely something I can deal with.

All in all 2 great products for 2 great prices!
