Eyes Lips Face (ELF) Mineral Face Primer- A Review

Submitted by Sara on April 28, 2010 – 11:08 pm7 Comments

I picked up the Mineral Infused Face Primer during ELF’s last 50% off sale. So instead of the unusual $6.00 elf price tag, it was only $3.00

I am all over new primers. I love anything that makes my skin look flawless, we all do right? I didnt have much luck with this product the first day I wore it. So I decided to wear it with a different foundation everyday to see if I had any better results.  Please note these are foundations I already use that consistently work well for me.

  • Day 1- Avon Cashmere Finish Foundation + Elf Mineral Primer = A mess! My foundation was pretty much gone my mid afternoon as well as the red patches in my skin were completly visable.
  • Day 2- Revlon Photo Ready Foundation + Elf Mineral Primer = Another mess! Again a easy way to describe my face today matches the above. My foundation was about gone before the day was over. Even without primer my foundation doesnt budge- But this is making it roll right of my skin!
  • Day 3- Mac Mineralize Foundation + Elf Mineral Primer Same bat time. Same bat channel… (same details apply as the above)

A few bits about my skin is that it is normal with a a semi oily t zone mostly depending on the current weather and temperature. With this product I been looking a wreck the past few days, by lunch my makeup is gone. I am honestly over trying any other combinations.  If anyone else has tried this and had better results I would love to know!

For those who are looking to try this item maybe try this instead. Price points are close to the same, but for me it works much better! Find alot more details regarding this product as a primer from a group of lovely ladies here!

Lovely review! I was a bit worried about the primer, I have a VERY oily T zone and Revlon PF already slides off my face mid day, I can’t imagine how it would look with this primer!!!

Hi Janine! Exactly! I would steer clear! I just was on the fryianne website and they had a face primer for oily skin that I ordered last night. I am hoping this works for me! I will definitley post up and let you know how it works!

Good to know, I have the Mineral Eyeshadow primer from ELF and it doesn’t last nearly as long as my paint pots. It creases by 5pm. Great review!

Hi Jane! Creasing is never ok, lol… I hate when that happens! There are two many products out there to mess with those that dont get the job done! You know what I mean. I love paintpots too :) Thanks so much for your comment!

Thanks for this review! I was really interested in trying this but now I know to avoid it. ELF products are really hit or miss!
