Make Up For Ever Face and Body Foundation – Shade 38

The past few years I have made a habit of trying out new foundations. Which before I started blogging I had a rule that I would never change my foundation. I dont like messing with my skin routine especially since alot of times when I make a change – my skin will react and unwanted break outs are likely to occur.

Years ago my “go to” was Estee Lauder Double Wear. I can tell you that I loved this foundation more than anything else I tried. Any foundation I used I would compare to it. But I can tell you that I may have found something that I may love a tiny… bit… more…

Make Up For Ever Face and Body is my new favorite. One of the reasons that I love this a bit more is because of how light the shades go and how light on the skin it feels. In most brands even the lightest shade still isnt “light enough” for my skin tone. I wear NW15 in MAC which is ok during most of the year, but in the winter can be too dark. In Estee Lauder I wore Shell. Both of these were ok for me but not as close of a match as Makeup Forever (mufe) in shade 38.

MUFE Face and Body is incredibly light on the skin. During the summer heat it doesnt sweat off or move. The texture of the foundation is a little different than what I am use to. It has a thin gel texture. But as thin as it is – it covers very well.

Getting the shade I needed was a bit of trouble for me. When I went to Sephora the lightest shade in the store was 20. This was too dark for me. I finally went into the city (San Francisco) and went into the Union Square location where they carried all shades. (thanks to Tish for going through this journey with me)I planned originally to look at shades 36 and 38. Both colors are very similar to each other except 36 has soooooo much more pink in it.  So with all the red under tones I already have in my skin I could easily see that 38 was a better match for me.

I know this review isnt helpful for all, but for the super light skinned ladies I hope it helps you if you are trying to answer the same questions as I was!
