Beauty Blogs Backstage featuring The Gloss Menagerie
For this months edition of Beauty Blogs Backstage I got the opportunity to chat with Alyson from The Gloss Menagerie Beauty Blog.
Just a quick reminder about Beauty Blogs Backstage or BBB, it is a different kind of “link love” instead of posting blog links you interview another blogger and share those details with other readers. This is really a fun idea and allows me to better get to know those in the Beauty Community! Want more info on this program. Click here. Keep reading to hear more about The Gloss Menagerie!
I asked Alyson 7 questions and here are her answers.
What’s your favorite part of blogging?
I love getting to try all these new products and being introduced to brands I otherwise never would have heard of. I’ve also met so many industry professionals and fellow bloggers who have so much to teach. As much as I write a lot of my blog to inform others, I have actually learned sooo much from being a beauty blogger too!
How did you come up with your blog name?
Even before I was a beauty enthusiast, I was a total literary nerd. I wanted a blog name that reflected my personality as well as the subject matter. I hope Tennessee Williams doesn’t mind the play on words.
If you could move to any country in the world where would you go?
I’d move to Canada so I could practice my French, watch lots more hockey, and go to Estee Lauder warehouse sales.
Besides Beauty, What is your passion?
Poetry! Told you I’m a literary nerd. I have been writing since I was a little girl. I even used to go to poetry camp every summer at a fine arts school.
On Most days, What is your makeup style?
If I’m staying home and not experimenting with new makeup, I’m usually barefaced. My everyday running around makeup look is something classic and polished (lots of neutrals, pink lips, etc.) but I love to spice things up with a smoky eye or some color every so often.
Do you have a makeup Muse, Someone who’s looks constantly inspire you? Actress, Singer, Guru? Who?
Makeup artists! I love the work of artists such as Kevin James Bennett, Eve Pearl, Jeanine Lobell, and Troy Jensen. Genius! Celebs whose makeup looks I usually like are Hillary Duff, Hayden Panettiere, Angelina Jolie, and Kim Kardashian, just to name a few (there are lots more).
If you could have any job (Beauty Related) What would you do?
Since I work in marketing/PR already, I would love to do marketing for a major beauty brand. It’s an aspiration of mine and has been for a while now. Know anyone?
If you want to hear more from Alyson, you can check out her blog here. Also, She interviewed me too! So check out those details on her site!

This is a great idea!! xoxo
