Burlesque Movie Event and Winners of Sebastian Gift Sets!
Last night was the Premier Screening for Burlesque in San Francisco with Cher and Christina Aquilera. I arrived at the theatre at 6:30 ( half an hour prior to showtime) and the place was packed. I couldn’t believe how many people were there before me and how long they must have already waited!
Then people started saying entrance was first come first serve. So once the theatre was full all other ticket holders would be turned away. That broke my heart. I I saw how excited everyone was with their Christina T Shirts and masks and couldn’t imagine anyone not getting into see the show.
The Lobby of the theatre was had some great movie props and movie posters everywhere. Those things were really fun to see.
After finally getting to the front of the line and being issued a ticket we proceeded to the screening room. Security went though everyone’s handbags and took everyone’s phones and cameras. You were given a ticket to get them back at the end of the show. Also they scanned everyone with a metal detector prior to entering the theatre. Some people in front of us actually left because they weren’t willing to comply with the above.
The movie was long. About 2 hour, but it didn’t drag on. If you are a Christina fan you are guaranteed to love the show. It didn’t feel like a musical. The only singing parts were when the characters were on stage. Which was allot of the time but the other scenes during the movie were normal dialogue. There were definitely scenes that made you think you had seen this story before but the characters all had a great chemistry with cute jokes thrown in here and there to keep the story interesting.
Christina/Ali- She was absolutely amazing on stage. Each time she performed her makeup and hair was beautiful. She looked completely different and flawless each time and the passion she portrays in most scenes was enough to make you tear up.
Cher/Tess- Cher even today looks young and gorgeous. Her makeup and hair were fabulous as well. I liked her character allot. Hearing her sing again was a reminder of how unique her voice really is. The songs she sang were a great fit for her voice. I honestly cant wait to pick up this soundtrack.
Stanley/Sean- I love Stanley so much from Devil wears Prada. In this movie his role was similar and he did it just as well.
These are my top three favorite characters from the show. But honestly all of the cast did a great job.
“All in All” the storyline wasn’t really original but the creativity and the appeal of the Burlesque Club as well as each and everyone of the amazing performances made the movie completely worth viewing. I honestly cant wait to see it again.
