Products You Love to Hate: Mine ELF Cream Liner. Read On Please
A while back I purchased Elf Creme Liner in Black. Take a trip back with me by clicking here for swatches and a FOTD is here for your reference.
Let me tell you how much I first love this product. The Black is intense. The finish is gorgeous. It lasts all day long. I would wear this daily without question IF ONLY.… It wasnt such a struggle to get of my brushes! I have to clean my eyeliner brushes 2 to 3 times before I can get the gunk this product leaves behind fully off. (Using MAC brush cleaner) Going a day between washes is never an option because it dries so hard. I dont know what ingredient makes this happen. But I LOVE to HATE it…
Do you have a product you love to hate? Tell me yours and Why…

Hi Amina! I really do like it!! I will try the oil trick. I just always soak my brushes and go. Usually they all come clean pretty easy!! Thank youuuu

I had a very similar problem with another gel eyeliner I was using. Also, my E.L. Double Wear foundation was really really hard to wash out of my foundation brush. That was until I started using pink soap artist brush cleaner. It will even get the stains out of my brushes from extra pigmented shadows, etc & it leaves my makeup brushes so soft. I use my Sephora brush cleaner or baby shampoo regularly but I always break out the pink soap for my eyeliner & foundation brushes
Here is what I am talking about…

Hi! I am glad it works for you. I really do love the liner!!

If you use a drop or two of oil you can break down the liner so that you can use your cleanser to get it all out.

Yes, I also enjoy the ELF Cream Liner after I darken it with a second line. It is great that it doesn’t move from my eyes. I love it almost as much as the MAC Chromaline Pro or the Laura Mercier Cake Liner because it stays on so well. Oh my gosh, I just received a product from Dalton cosmetics, their cream eyeliner and it is amazing. Just beautiful. I am doing a review this weekend…I am not usually this happy with a cream liner and it has this amazing second top that will click and a little mirror. LOVE LOVE!

hahaha! Sara I literally lol’d! I wash my eyeliner brushes after every use, that’s the one brush I actually wash daily. Because it stiffens like all hell after my HIP gel liner which I’m assuming is the same thing that happens to you with this. Here is my fool-proof brush washing: One bar of soap (it MUST be a bar), one dirty brush.
wet the brush in scolding hot water (just let it run, this process requires no touching), rub it on the bar of soap, rinse in the scolding hot water while tapping it lightly on the sink (bristles touch the landing spot where the water hits the sink)
