IMATS will bring exciting new attractions when it returns to the Pasadena Convention Center June 25-26.

For the first time at IMATS Los Angeles, Make-Up Artist magazine Pro Card holders will have access to an exclusive pro-only show time, which runs 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 24 at the convention center. It will open with a reception for “The Greatest Make-up Artists of Our Time: A Selection of Portraits by Deverill Weekes.” This photo gallery features portraits that Weekes, Make-Up Artist magazine’s staff photographer, shot between 1994 and 2011. The reception is sponsored by M.A.C. and hosted by IMATS Show Director Michael Key and actress Juliet Landau.

Another new development is the Face Off panel, featuring contestants from the first season of the make-up effects-based reality show.

As with every show, professional make-up artists working in film, fashion, TV, theater and print will teach classes and demonstrate top techniques and styles all weekend. Make Up For Ever founder Dany Sanz, a crowd favorite, will return to IMATS Los Angeles as an instructor.

Throughout the weekend, make-up companies will unveil new products and tools and offer discounts on kit staples. This year’s show features several new exhibitors—including Norcostco, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Inglot, BodyFX and Napoleon Perdis—as well as IMATS Los Angeles regulars including Make Up For Ever, M.A.C., Nyx and Züca.

The Make-up Museum will showcase make-up effects, sculptures, animatronics and more from some of the world’s best-known films. The student competition, in which make-up students race to create winning looks, has a tribal beauty theme for the beauty category; the character category is themed mythological creatures.

Make-Up Artist magazine has been producing IMATS since 1997, and the show has grown significantly over the years: Make-Up Artist also produces IMATS in London; New York; Vancouver, B.C.; Sydney and Toronto.
