Stila Illuminating Finishing Powder- Bronze and Rose Gold Swatches
So you have probably noticed I have been on a bit of a Stila crush lately. My Stila issue in my last post has been resolved which I am very thankful for so I am still able to enjoy all my beloved Stila items.
A product that I just love from Stila is their Illuminating Finishing powders. These are just like MAC MSF’s or Mineral Skin Finishes. In my opinion they do the same job and are about the same size. (see comparison below)
I really love both products by Stila and MAC Cosmetics. I love how they blend into the skin almost effortlessly.
In the swatches above you can see the gorgeous shimmer of both colors, Rose Gold and Bronze. I did layer a bit to ensure the camera could pic up the color but even with a lot of product the color is beautiful, blended and not over done.
Arent they pretty? Have you tried them?

All Cosmetic items discussed in the above post were purchased by me. Anything written is my own opinion and not influenced by any other person or company.
MAC Cosmetics Naked Honey Collection Review and Swatches
Here is My Quick and Dirty thoughts about MACS New Naked Honey Collection. Maybe its my head cold but Im not in the mood for sugar coating. lol.. Hopefully you understand what I mean though..
I am definitly not saying these are exact dupes. Just very similar. The texture however is better on the new shadows though so if you were thinking about buying Paradisco I would definitely advise you to get Pollinator eye shadow instead. I swatched them together in the store and Pollinators payoff was much smoother however I just cant see replacing mine since I dont use it that often anyway… and so on with the other shadows from the collection.
The Naked Honey Lip glass were all very pretty and very wearable. I already have Shes a Star Lipglass from A Mei Collection. This color is very pretty, But not something I needed a backup of. Queen Bee and Buzz were really pretty as well. If I didn’t have so many glosses I probably would have gotten them. But they weren’t a must have for me…
The Skincare items were kind of on the small side in my opinion package wise… The Skin Salve looked kinda like “shoe polish” in the container (but smaller) same kinda texture. Oily in texture which I imagine sinks right into the skin. This would probably be good for spot treatment or for dry patches. If you use it for more than that it probably wouldnt last you very long.
The Lipstick Queen Experience..
I have heard a few things about Lipstick Queen via blogs and swatches that I have seen posted online, but had never seen Poppy’s Lip Products up close and personal.
I like the design of her website. To the eye its informational and intriguing at the same time. The Product colors on the site look fantastic but I have always been skeptical to trust color on the screen especially when I have never seen any items in person… Untill now…
I have this Amazing friend who traveled across oceans to attend The Makeup Show in New York a couple weeks back. One of her missions while she was there was to check out the Lipstick Queen products and to send back a report and some of the best of what she found. Upon arrival to the show she finds out that Lipstick Queen wasn’t exhibiting this year. In desperation this friend searched out the closest department store that carried Lipstick Queen and made her way there. Thank goodness her trip wasn’t in vain…
(drama inserted for effect, lol)
This fantastic friend that I speak of sent back 2 beautiful red tone color lipsticks from the Sinner Line. Now, If you know me or as you start to you learn more you will see that I love Reds! I can never have to many! All Brands, Textures, Shades are a mandatory part of my stash! So… I was beyond excited to open the box and find these colors! Tid bit #2 about me is that I love matte as well! Matte Anything! Eyeshadow, Lipstick and just makeup in general. So the fact that these Lipstick Queen shades are RED and MATTE have me drooling….
To the left is Sinner shade in Red Sinner and to the left shade is Berry Sinner. They are so soft and creamy I am already cruising the lipstick queen site for more!
(All the images that I have shown are either my images or taken from the Lipstick Queen website.)
See below a swatch on my skin compared to the color shown on the lipstick queen site so you can see the difference. The Berry Sinner is quite dark. It really reminds me of MAC Kirch mattene (cult of cherry) I now feel comfortable shopping directly from the website! The colors I believe are pretty close to whats online and the texture and color is beautiful and intense! However. The only negative thing I have to say about these lippies are that they are dry! I know this is expected from all matte textured lippies, but this is more drying than Laura Mercier or even MAC matte shades.
Any Questions, let me know! Also share your Lipstick Queen Experiences and reviews…. While I was scoping out the site I did find a couple of stores that carry this brand not to far from where I live. So I will venture out soon and bring back those swatches for more color comparisons.

Here is a shot of me wearing the Red Sinner. No I did not edit or brighten this pic. This is what the flash does when on outside to my poor pale skin, haha. But this is still what the color looks like. It is a bright red color. Hopefully I can get a better picture next time I wear it and then I will update!
